Lifestyle Poly Sexual Questions

I have been reading thru the various posts by people who have taken the lifestyle poly.  I saw that one individual who took it was asked the questions, "Do you ever masturbate to internet pornography?"  What is the purpose of this type of question?  Is it to test if you will answer honestly to an embarrassing question?  And how should one handle such a question?
I also recall the question, "Have you ever participated in deviant sexual behavior?"  What exactly are they looking for here, and what kind of answer would be most likely to end that line of questioning?

dogman,

It seems that agencies such as the NSA and CIA ask such personally intrusive questions as a form of psychological castration. It serves to humiliate and demean applicants and employees. These questions are generally asked during the pre-test phase but are generally not included as relevant questions during the "in-test" phase. At least one agency (the U.S. Secret Service) commonly uses a question about sex with animals as a sort of "shock control" question.

I don't mean to be flippant, and please forgive the crude language, but I think the appropriate response of any patriotic American seeking public employment when asked by a government official such questions as, "Do you ever masturbate to Internet pornography?" should be "crappity smack you, asshole!" accompanied with the universally understood hand and arm signal.

Personally, I find it deeply troubling that our intelligence services are staffed by people who lacked the spine to refuse to answer such inappropriate questions. You may wish to reconsider how intimate a relationship you are willing to have with your government.

dognam and George,

The NSA polygrapher stated that, in hopes of getting
me to admit to it; there was porn being passed
around, and I guess they were trying to see, if I was
really into it.  One NSA empolyee was pulling porn
of out the databases, and storing it locally under his
account, then emailing it to other employees.  He had
been caught more than once, not fired, but reassigned
to a "help desk".  He is now enjoying his retirement,
undoubtedly, surfing the Internet.  With all the
sexual dysfunction at the Agency, I wonder, how many
employees surf the Internet, scared of the poly ?
I have heard many horror stories, involving NSA
polygraphers - they are probably the most deviant of
the bunch.  NSA holds clearances
"over peoples' heads", so that is why there are so
many spineless employees.  It is almost a cult
atmosphere, where NSA security indirectly threatens
employees'  careers.  Since the end of the Cold War,
NSA has become even more of a hostile place to work -
look what happened to Russ Tice:

George and NSAreject are definately right on with there assessments. But they also use this type of shock treatment to the subject as a way to letting you know that nothing will be protected from questioning. It also lets you as the subject know that the polygrapher is the one in control. He needs this in order to make his voodoo work, compliance and belief in his power are part of his arsenal. Just know that its all part of the polygraphers schtick !!!  I have posted this before but the polygrapher needs 3 things to make his voodoo work on you.

1. Fear and Anxiety  ----
2. Absolute belief in the polygraphs validity
3 Consequences

Anyone of the 3 missing and wahlah ... no magic

Hence the need to shock you and make you believe.

Don't fall for it !!
