Hello and good day everyone. I recieved a call a few days ago from the NSA about me being a prospective employee. They have mailed me my security forms and fingerprint cards. When I was 20 I was convicted of a felony offense in the state of GA and 7 years later I am going to plead under Georgia's First Offenders Law. Will that affect my BI for the NSA? I already talked to my lawyer about it and he said that any government agency who runs a BI on you will find it and will not hire you based on something that happened 7 years ago and even though I am on probation doing 80 hours of community service for the crime. Will that be taken off my FBI File? Please help me out on this one guys!!!!

I am sure the NSA will not even consider your
application, once they find out about your felony.  You
would first have to pass the life-style poly, which covers
major crimes, and if you get past the poly, the DoD/DSS
investigators will interview you (you cannot lie, unlike
with polygraphers).  You had better not lie to the DoD,
because that is crime, and they will find out about your
felony.  But if you are honest with them, you may have
a chance on getting a DoD clearance (but, you have not
provided any information on what you were conviced of).
In order to have any record of your crime erased , the
judge would have to expunge your record.
