Im not sure when to use a cm? do i use it threw the hole thing or just question i need to lie or make sure they dont think im lieing about? I know the diffrence between the control questions or i think i do.

I gonna read this great book a few more times to see if i can grasp it even more but some help whould be nice thanks

PS... Very nervous about this.. I tryed pot once with my sister before I left for the army. I hate it and got a nasty Flue the day after in Basic training(i know it wasnt from the pot but everytime i smell it i wanna puke) I am married now and have a little one on the way. I just got out of the army and plan on being a cop.

In the context of a pre-employment polygraph examination, any question about illegal drug use is almost certainly a relevant question, and not a "control" question. Applicants are not secretly expected to be dishonest about their past illegal drug use. I hope you were not planning to lie about this. (From your post, I inferred that perhaps you were.) Your one-time use of marijuana five years ago is well within the limits of even the strictest of federal agencies, such as the FBI.

You'll find the difference between relevant, "control," and irrelevant questions explained at length in Chapter 3 of The Lie Behind the Lie Detector. Countermeasures are explained in Chapter 4. I suggest you re-read both chapters carefully.

Well i have a 100% in the department but they have a Rule about younger cadets in there drug use. My drug use is within 5 yrs  4yrs and 5mos to be excat so my dad told me not to put it down. Hes my foot in the door and doesnt want my minor mistake to kick him in the ass. LOL he also was the one to tell me about this site a cuzzen of mine used it for the CIA and he pasted i think. So my question is if i want to cover somthing up (not saying the drug related question) When should i aplly the cms... During the control questions to make a response bigger then the one i will give if i do infact lie?
