Just how accurate is the polygraph? Can truthful people fail? Can liars beat the polygraph? How can you protect yourself against a false positive outcome?

Are they even this objective? I don't believe polygraphs can distinguish between lies and truth. However, out of curiousity, are they even objective enough so that the charts produced will be read the same by all polygraphers...
