In a
Cape Cod Chronicle article titled "Ed Silva Wins Cape Cod Bodybuilding Championship The Natural Way," (http://www.capecodchronicle.com/har101002_5.htm) Eric Adler reports on the extensive reliance of "all-natural" bodybuilding competitions on polygraphy:
Quote...the All Natural Body Building Championship lives up to its name, prohibiting contestants from putting harmful toxins into their bodies such as steroids, growth hormones and prescribed diuretics. In fact, they have to prove their pureness by taking a polygraph test, and those who fail are banned for life from all American Natural Bodybuilding Conference (http://www.anbc.org) events.
Reliance on the pseudoscience of polygraphy seems to be at odds with the spirit of all-natural bodybuilding. The organizers of these competitions would do well to learn from the National Academy of Sciences' polygraph report (http://www.nap.edu/books/0309084369/html/).
