Title: High School Graduation MOONING in 2012 - Clearance Chances?
Post by: Cody aka Shrodes on Dec 21, 2022, 09:52 AM
Twenty years ago, in 2012, I mooned my graduation class.  The video is posted on youtube.

Here I am ten years later and I'm applying for jobs that require security clearances and go back ten years into my background.  Technically, this mooning happened in May 2012 which is 10.5 years ago so I'm thinking it will be out of scope of the security clearance investigation?  Can I get a clearance without this event coming up?

Correction to the first sentence:  Ten years ago.

I wouldn't be concerned about it. But I wouldn't call attention to it, either.

Well, it took a long time but I finally got TS/SCI clearance with a full scope poly in the IC.  They didn't even ask about this incident so I didn't mention it.  Even on questions about crime, embarrassing behavior, and the like, I did not mention my graduation mooning.   It was thanks to Antipolygraph.org and TLBTLD that I was able to pass my poly with ease . . . no confessions!  It is probably best to keep my pants on going forward.
