Title: Undetected serious crime
Post by: joanna on Oct 10, 2018, 02:15 PM
Hello, The question was have you ever committed a undetected serious crime. A very short list of major crimes that are very rare for people to commit. If you have been accused of failing this question dos it mean you failed your polygraph or are they trying to trick you to admit to something? Thanks.

The answer to your question depends on the kind of agency that asked it. If it was a federal law enforcement agency, then it very likely does mean that you failed the polygraph. However, if it was an intelligence agency such as the CIA or NSA, it doesn't necessarily mean that you failed, because these agencies' polygraph operators routinely accuse people of lying in response to the relevant questions but nonetheless bring them back for one or more follow-up sessions when no disqualifying admission has been made.
