Retired FBI special agent and polygraph operator John Richard "Jack" Trimarco died of pancreatic cancer on Monday, 6 August 2018. He was 70 years old.
Trimarco conducted my FBI pre-employment polygraph interrogation, an experience I described in my statement, "Too Hot of a Potato: A Citizen-Soldier's Encounter with the Polygraph." (https://antipolygraph.org/statements/statement-003.shtml)
After retiring from the FBI in 2000, Trimarco began conducting polygraph "tests" for the Dr. Phil television talk show.
The website FBIretired.com has a professional profile of Jack Trimarco here:

The American Polygraph Association has posted an obituary here:

De mortuis nil nisi bonum dicendum est.
Hi, George. You may want to double-check that...as far I know jack is definitely still alive and well!

How do you know this for sure?
Just a hunch...
I find it impossible to believe someone with his public profile (not saying it's by any means HUGE...but it exists...) could pass away and just completely fly under the radar for an entire month...Literally NOTHING about it online other than that one APA link and a couple FB posts that seem to stem FROM it. Also his website remains untouched. Someone is trying to pull something... Just doesnt add up. If you find any proof...by all means! (And I'm certainly not faulting you for "buying" the obituary like a normal, well-intentioned human should:)
Sadly, I don't think the APA has made a mistake. The obituary on the website appears (based on metadata in the PDF) to have been prepared by retired FBI special agent Ron Homer. You'll also see that Jack is no longer listed on the California Association of Polygraph Examiners' membership listing:
http://californiapolygraph.com/examiners.html
It's not surprising that his website would remain online. It's common for individuals to outsource web design and hosting, and as long as the bill (typically charged to a credit card) continues to be paid, and no family member cancels the service, the site would remain online.
Sad, but true. Dr.Phil announced it on his show today. Apparently, Jack fell ill suddenly & unexpectedly and was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer . He passed away shortly afterwards.
My condolences to his family, friends & all who knew and loved him. RIP Jack.
Anyone see Dr. Phil today? Are all you big-mouths who doubted that Mr. Trimarco passed away finally believing it??? Idiots like you, who think things aren't true simply because THEY haven't heard them, are ignorant busybodies.
You're a bigmouth for responding that way....
So sad to hear this news today. Jack Trimarco represented one of the very few men in this world who lived his life honoring truth, justice, his country, integrity and his family. In all my 60 years I have never had the prviledge of meeting or knowing a man with such honorable qualities.
So very shocked and saddened by this news. He was such a respectable, honest and sincere man. To not have heard a word prior to his passing of him being ill made the announcement by Dr. Phil that much more shocking. He will certainly be missed.Praying for strength for his family as they go through this most difficult time
Jack Trimarco has really passed away. It is true. He had stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Found out he was ill and passed away fast.
I have enjoyed watching Mr. Trimarco for many years on the Dr. Phil show. I was so sad when Dr. Phil made the heartfelt announcement after his show. He was such a class act. Always respectful and kind no matter what the case was about! My heart breaks for his family and friends! RIP Jack Trimarco
So sad and surprised to hear of Jack Trimarco's death. Prayers to his family and friends. He will be missed on the Dr. Phil show tremendously. RIP Jack Trimarco
So sad to hear of this man, Jack Trimarko" passing away. One really didn't have to know him personally to realize that he was one of the most honest, caring, considerate people who cared about people and the work he did to help innocent people. May God Bless his family.
What a wonderful man. Jack I'm so sorry life slipped between your fingers so fast. You will always be remembered as a remarkable man. Unfair that we blinked our eyes for just a moment and then you were gone..... if I could do anything..... idcur3 cancer and be able to rewind it all and fix everything and give so many families back people that was yanked out of their lives like this. Please tell my daddy I miss him and tell Jesus I hope he is more patient with me.
I just heard the news about Jack
Just heard the news about the passing of Jack Trimarco on the Dr. Phil show scheduled here in Perth Western Australia on 29th October. I was truly saddened as I have watched the the show from the start. His character came through the screen and you just knew he always did everything to help the guests be calm and at ease and his fairness was of the utmost. I really respected him and will keep him in my prayers! RIP
The Dr. Phil show, which employed Jack Trimarco for many years, has replaced him with John L. Grogan, whom Trimarco once denounced as "a fraud":
