An opinion rendered by the Court of Appeals for the Eighth District of Texas on 27 April 2016 is of relevance to Texans subject to post-conviction screening programs. The case is Pena v. Texas (No. 08-00038-CR) and the opinion is available online here (http://www.search.txcourts.gov/SearchMedia.aspx?MediaVersionID=49bbba25-0fce-417f-b2b8-78f9a22cec4d&MediaID=e72336a0-ba89-49a4-a1ef-305164a972a0&coa=%22+++this.CurrentWebState.CurrentCourt+++%40%22&DT=Opinion). I have also attached a copy to this post.
