Post by: anon12414132 on Jul 20, 2014, 08:12 PM
suppose person fails all nsa polys & doesnt get ts/sci. what happens if they apply for secret or top secret clearance (no poly needed)? can they still get those clearances?

I haven't seen any government-wide policy statement on such matters, but provided no admissions have been made that would preclude granting of a security clearance, I don't think failing an NSA polygraph necessarily means disqualification from holding a security clearance with another agency. However, I think the fact of the failed polygraph will be made known to adjudicators for the other agency, and that may make granting of a security clearance less likely.
