Hello,
I was told a couple of months ago, that combat veterans fail most polygraph test/CVSA. Does anyone have information on this subject, documentation/studies to back would be great.
I ask this because 8 guys I know have been removed from hiring processes that are combat vets. One, I have known since we were 9. He was literally an alter boy, and was probably the best Marine I ever served with.
Thanks in advance
I don't have information on combat veterans failing polygraphs or CVSA "testing" at a rate higher than average. But bear in mind that pre-employment polygraph rates of 50-70% are not uncommon in law enforcement agencies.
The polygraph may be used as a pretext for discriminating against reservists and guardsmen. This is alleged in a Merit Systems Protection Board action against U.S. Customs and Border Protection:
