Title: Will failed polygraph show-up in background check?
Post by: johnl247 on Jan 18, 2012, 08:03 AM
hi, i just recently took a polygraph to clear my name on a theft case at my work. the examiner said i failed and try to get me to confess for an hour. it was the worst experience of my life. i wish i came to this site first. i would have never volunteered to take the test.

my question is will this failed polygraph be on my background check or any other record?

will this come to haunt me if i decide to get another job?

and why is it ok for the examiner to not show me why i failed? he would not show me the polygraph and said i failed miserable.

Assuming that your polygraph was not conducted by a federal law enforcement agency, I would not expect your polygraph results to come up in the course of a background investigation.

As to why the polygraph operator would not show you the results, you have to realize that polygraphy is a fraud. It has no scientific basis, and the offer of a polygraph "test" to criminal suspects is a ruse to get them into an interrogation room without a lawyer present. The suspect's "failing" the "test" can be foreordained as part of the interrogation plan.

Thank you for replying. It was done by the police.

The only reason i volunteered was to return to work as soon as possible. Now i may be fired due to the fail test. I cannot believe this test exist. How many innocent people are now considered guilthy. The power given to these examiners are ridicules.
