Title: Poly Help!
Post by: MustPassThis on Nov 28, 2011, 02:21 PM
Hi, I am scheduled to take a polygraph with my husband in the upcoming month. We decided to take it together just to see the outcome; he is very serious about the results whereas I am not. I have never cheated on my husband however I have flirted before and feel guilty for it. Could this possibly be detected as infidelity when asked? I know its mind over matter in this case but I do not want to be labelled as deceptive when it is actually far from the truth!

I recommend you do not take the polygraph "exam."

I don't see how it can do any good at all. If you are called Deceptive, then it will make your quagmire even more miserable. If you are called Truthful, there will still be a cloud of doubt hanging over the situation as they are unreliable.

I would recommend instead that you seek professional help to work towards building trust and probing the issues that tend to make you act out in flirtatious manner.
