Title: PORTSMOUTH VIRGINIA POLICE DEPARTMENT
Post by: PORTSMOUTHBLUE on Jan 11, 2011, 03:07 AM
Just wanted to add to your site that Portsmouth Virginia Police DO use polygraphy and their examiners are especially deceptive.

They also employ a civil service commission that in my opinion places far too much weight in the poly outcomes.

There is a site (DO NOT VISIT) **portsmouthpolice.com** that was hosted by a Portsmouth officer who was decorated and well liked but who failed a polygraph related to an internal affairs investigation and was terminated as a result. The site is now somehow full of virus's (BIG SURPRISE) as he had FOIA requested several documents and correspondences between management that were very embarrassing. It's really to bad the site is unvisitable.

Anyway keep up the excellent work George and to folks out there considering LE careers stay AWAY from Portsmouth police. If you fail their VERY flawed poly it will haunt you in attempts with Norfolk,Chesapeake,Virginia Beach and Suffolk.

They keep the poly outcomes on record for AT LEAST 5 years and are HAPPY to share them with any other agency or officer.

Could you please tell me when the Civil Service Commission meets this month?  I have been unable to get a date from the City, and thought you might know.

Thank you
