Title: Is a national database LE agencies share for recruitment?
Post by: a. on May 12, 2010, 12:47 AM
Here's the deal.  Was disqualified from further consideration by a Federal LE agency a few years ago because I admitted to a couple instances of past drug experimentation on the application. Even though the usage  was over 15 years ago, that fact that it was another substance outside of marijuana caused a red flag and did not fly with their strict guidelines.   Was thinking about possibly applying for state police or local PD. Question is, should I leave out the Fed application/ denial?   Don't like to lie, but i'm paranoid now.   Could they find out somehow that I applied and why i was DQ'ed?

there is no national data base.. contrary to what some may tell you .. being disqualified by one agency will not disqualify you from others.

any agency you apply for should give you the minimum standards for drug use. if you meet them push on.. if not find an agency were you do meet them.

if they ask about prior applications tell them .. if they find you you lied your disqualified..there are a lot of way to learn about prior applications.. for example if you were fingerprinted they are on file etc.

good luck
