It's not so unusual for the FBI to grant a "re-test" to an applicant who has failed the polygraph but made no disqualifying admission. However, "re-tests" are a sham: virtually everyone granted one "fails" it, too.

Wow, so he didn't even get an inconclusive or is the inconclusive the same as a fail for a poly?

He didn't petition or make any sort of phone calls so that he could take another one, they just contacted him.

By the way, I'd been reading through that thread on that forum, it seems some people had gotten IC's but had still been hired, the consensus there seemed to be that it had to be the condition of how you got the IC. For instance if you answered a question ahead of time or something it messed it up.  But I don't recall the ones who got an IC getting another test.
