Post by: luke tincenarias the 3rd on Nov 04, 2008, 05:06 PM
Hello. I would like to know a list or idea of questions that i will be expected to answer for a polygraph test provided by an armored truck service. Did not find the topic when searching. Any dis-qualifiers...drug questions. ect please respond fast if possible. thank you

I assume this armored truck company is a private company. If so, they cannot legally force you to take a polygraph. They can be sued if they refuse to hire you because you decline to take it. Polygraph requirement is only legal for city, county, state and federal government positions. Primarily law enforcement.

I'm pretty sure that armored car companies can make you take the test before you get a job if they want to.

yes I heard that some private companies like armored truck companies can still legally apply the test. still wondering what types of questions they may ask?

Phillip

Did EPPA write a special exemption for that industry? Is their classification LE because they carry weapons?

Luke

Some one will be answering you question soon I'm sure. I don't know.

Twoblock,

Section 2006 of the EPPA (http://www.fas.org/sgp/othergov/polygraph/eppa.html) carves out exemptions for certain security services, including armored car personnel.

Luke,

I would expect that the questions asked on a pre-employment polygraph examination for an armored car company will be similar to those asked of law enforcement applicants. See Chapter 3 of The Lie Behind the Lie Detector (https://antipolygraph.org/pubs.shtml) for examples of the kinds of questions you are likely to encounter.
