Title: Number of times countermeasures should be used during a Test
Post by: mik on Nov 01, 2008, 11:34 PM
Hi,
I would like to know how often I should be using countermeasures during the polygraph test. Once or twice? 10x? If i use it too often for control questions wouldn't the polygraph examiner know something is wrong?

Thanks for your help!

Mik

mik,

Since each "control" question is scored, it is advantageous to show a reaction to as many control questions as one clearly recognizes as such. Despite much bluster, no polygrapher has demonstrated any ability to reliably detect the kinds of countermeasures explained in Chapter 4 of The Lie Behind the Lie Detector (https://antipolygraph.org/lie-behind-the-lie-detector.pdf).
