Title: Suspicious CIA recruiter?
Post by: glink on Sep 13, 2008, 09:15 AM
I've never applied for CIA because I know they don't hire foreign nationals.  Recently i was contacted by someone who identified himself as a CIA recruiter. He said he found my resume posted on the web very interesting, and asked if I was interested in a certain position in CIA.

I'm a bit suspicious if he was truthful.  Is this the way they hire people in CIA? Thanks.

Ask the recruiter to arrange for you to verify his credentials in a manner that includes you dialing the CIA published telephone number for the Office of Public Affairs (703) 482-0623.

Do not just call this number and start asking questions because they will not verify without a prior arrangement.

He should know the proper procedure for getting this done. If he says he isn't willing to do this because of "National Security" or some other BS excuse you might want to call that number and report him as an impersonator.
