Post by: hypnomonkey on Jul 13, 2008, 03:14 PM
Do any of you gus know if hypnosis can be used to pass a polygraph, i.e using short term amnesia?
Does any one know of any one blatantly lying and passing a polygraph using counter measures?  Many thanks...

I'm not aware of any evidence that hypnosis is of any help for passing polygraph examinations. As for a person who blatantly lied but passed using countermeasures, the most infamous example is Aldrich Ames (https://antipolygraph.org/forum/index.php?topic=2502.msg17624#msg17624).

Or, Gary Ridgway, our nations most notorious serial killer, who killed after passing a police polygraph.
