Title: Computer polygraphs
Post by: nopolycop on Nov 05, 2007, 11:02 AM
When a chart is made, does the computer calculate the number of beats per minute, the blood pressure, the breathing rate?  Is that displayed on the screen for the polygrapher to see?

One may calculate the heart rate and respiration rate by looking at the 5 second time markers on the polygraph chart. Simply count the beats in a 10 second interval and multiply by 6.  Same with respiration rate although a little longer interval is better.  Number of cycles in a 20 second interval multiply by 3.  Blood pressure is not given or calculated.
