I do not believe either of these questions are control questions.  They sound more like irrelevant questions to me; they are not scored at all and are there merely to serve as a buffer between sets of relevant and control questions.

Telling the truth throughout all phases of a law enforcement application is without a doubt the best policy.  I would not like to work with someone who is willing to lie in order to get something he wants, and I'm sure you would not either.
