My husband is or was in the process in getting in to the LAPD. The whole process went smoothly till he got into the medical portion of the exam. they disqualified him by technicality because he is COLORBLIND (red and green). He can see SOME shades of red and green which allows him to drive. The poor guys whole dreams were shattered over one little tiny flaw. The interesting issue is that he was in the military for 4 years (artillery) his FAVORITE color is GREEN and he used night vision goggles in the military. Im just curious is there any way he could come about around this issue. Im sure if he's great to defend his own country he's great to keep our neighborhood safe. please help!
Hi:
Whenever I take that test with the book that has all the colored dots in it I fail. Yet, employers have presented me with a board that has colored wires stapled on it and I always pass. What my ophthalmologist says is that I have color confusion. My eyes do not pick out colors in camouflage well at all. I do see in color though and I can easily discern physical outlines of objects.
Perhaps your husband is the same. Can he ask to identify solid colors of different shades?
