I applied for an FBI position in late 2005. In May '06, I got a call to come for an interview in NYC. After the interview, I waited six months more when I was surprsed by a call to come for a security and poly. I recall being anxious and being told I was showing stress about drug use. I have never abused drugs - I don't even drink or smoke. I told the examiner I was generally anxious because I was trying to recall 15 years, and was afraid I was unintentionally leaving something out that had faded with time. She had me write a supplement.
Last Friday, I was called and told I passed the poly. Today I received a message from my supv to call someone at the FBI. A different person who I had never talked to before said that what I had been told was not the "official" results, which was that I failed!!!

I held myself back because I didn't want to say something that I'd regret, but later called back and left a message asking if there was an appeal process.
Any thoughts?
