Title: LASIK and Law Enforcement
Post by: J3H3 on Nov 10, 2006, 11:56 PM
Hey guys,

So as of now I have 20/400 uncorrected vision. Pretty bad!  I know that to get into any law enforcement position I'm gonna need to get LASIK. I however want a law enforcement career desperately so I will get LASIK.

However I'm not even into college yet. I worry that I'm gonna go all the way through college and somehow my LASIK won't work out.

Is it worth it? And is LASIK dangerous?

Hey J3H3. I had Lasik in 96' 97' when it was new, and I have a 125k law-enforcement job which I wouldn't have gotten without lasik as my vision was as yours is now. Definately worth it when your ready. Check with feds though as some might frown on it. not sure. I told my local law enforcement and they didn't care as long as I read the chart...
