Title: Drug use with former military
Post by: Brettster55 on Oct 04, 2006, 07:09 PM
I was in the military for 4 years working intel for nsa with a ts/sci, before I was issued my clearance I smoked pot 3 times in the first year on leave before I was issued any clearance. How is this going to affect my polygraph working at nsa as a contractor?

Brettster55,

First and foremost you put the drug use on your SF-86 upfront. None of us on this board condone hiding anything where positions of trust are concerned. Don't hide it or try to push it off. Be aware that your most likely going to get the Full-Scope Lifestyle polygraph and this drug use is going to flag some pretty extensive attention by the polygrapher. But again if your honest upfront you won't have a problem. But I do highly recommend that you download the ebook from this website, "THe Lie Behind the Lie Detector", and fully realize and understand what is about to transpire, pay close attention to chapters 3 & 4, then go back and read the first 2 chapters. By having the knowlege you short curcuit the anxiety and fear that comes from a polygraph interrogation. Your polygrapher is banking on the fear and anxiety  to make his voodoo work.  Makes your experience less of a trauma. And you will know what a crock the polygraph really is. Much success to you.

Regards ....
