Title: Sweaty Hand Concerns
Post by: marin on Apr 14, 2006, 06:58 PM
I always sweat especially in my hands.  How will this affect a test?

Same here.  My hands sweat buckets whenever I'm nervous. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Polygraphers look for changes in perspiration levels (as a function of changes in skin conductivity or resistance) in response to relevant vs. "control" questions. Simply having sweaty hands is not generally taken as an indication of deception. See Chapter 3 of The Lie Behind the Lie Detector (http://antipolygraph.org/lie-behind-the-lie-detector.pdf) for an explanation of polygraph procedure.
