In a recent article in the Associated Press I read that a recent invention now allows MRI's to be used as lie detectors too. The article states that Cephos Corporation is pushing for the use of this technology for wide use in private industry to government agencies. Detractors of this technology stated that there were issues that dealt with violation of privacy rights. Another area of contention is the dearth of scientific studies that can accurately show how reliable this technology can be in the long run. The article also states that there is a rush to adopt this new lie detecting wonder. I would like to know what everyone thinks of this new technology? Like the use of the polygraph, I think that people may put their faith in another straw man as well. Here's the link to the article if anybody wishes to read it:

What I think is that if they are not 100% accurate, then they shouldn't be used. I won't accept a device which is 95% accurate either.
