Acronyc,
Relax! - The CIA will not process your application unless you are in the United States. It does not mean that you are not of interest to them. The CIA is looking for people with foreign background and you certainly meet the criteria. You made a tactical mistake by not asking for his email or phone number. When you get back, if you don't hear from this person again, you may want to resubmit your application and state that a recruiter contacted you previously but that you were overseas at the time and therefore couldn't begin the process.
Keep in mind that the process is lengthy and it can take up to 15 months before you get cleared. I have been in this process for about 14 months now and although I am in the final stage (adjudication), it can take another three or four months for them to make their final decision because of my previous foreign background.
You may want to start educating yourself in this website about the security process, especially the polygraph examination. This website helped me a great deal.
Good Luck.

Acronyc,
I agree with Opp -- you have the necessary international experience, making you an attractive candidate. I also have substantial overseas experience and was contacted overseas. Be prepared for lengthy application process -- I am working on my 16th month!
