Title: Will Abramoff be Polygraphed
Post by: Twoblock on Jan 04, 2006, 05:50 PM

since the FBI believes in the Polygraph so thoroughly, I wonder if they will poly Abramoff to determine if his guilty plea is truthful or, do they believe its only utility is to deny employment?

The pollutablecrats have already started saying that they did no wrong. Will they be asked, by the FBI, to take a poly to prove their "GUILT"?

If any or all are asked to take a polygraph, I'll bet they decline stating its invalidity.

The sad thing is that bribery (labeled campaigne contrubutions) goes on at all levels of politics.

Twoblock,

Although many federal plea agreements require that the accused submit to polygraph "testing" if requested, the agreements Jack Abramoff signed yesterday and today seem not to include any such provision:

He can be polygraphed and under the hearsay clause it can be used against him.  Doubt that will happen, but it is written in the unwritten portion of the agreement.

George

This sure goes way beyond Webster's definition of a politician "you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours".

Whylie

Unless it was specifically specified in the plea agreement (that he would agree to a polygoof), I don't think he can be forced to do so. Outside of government employment, it's on a voluntary basis anyway and I don't think any involved will volunteer.

Or better yet, let's put the Enron guys on Poly and convict them on that. We'll save lots of money for taxpayers.

Yeah right!!  Those Enron guys are all the "smartest guys in the room"--remember?  Their obvious guilt combined with their high intelligence is SURE to allow them to pass the polygraph with flying colors!  I'll bet they'd all come out completely innocent!
