I have to take a polygraph in 6 days, and I have been reading TLBTLD. I am worried however about what format I will encounter. A detective related to the case told me that there will be 10 questions, 3 of which will be relevant ones. He said we would agree on the questions before hte test and that there would be surprises. Do you think this wil be a test with controle questions or a Relevant/Irrelevant test? The test is being given by a detective in a county court setting.
??? ??? ???
Please advise, so I know how to prepare.
Thank You!!
From your post it sounds like this polygraph is in connection with a criminal case of some sort. The best advice would be to refuse to take a polygraph and get yourself an attorney. If you are taking the polygraph because you feel you are innocent and have nothing to fear you should read "The Lie Behind the Lie Detector" on this web site. The police cannot compel you to take a polygraph, and there is no such thing as using a polygraph to "clear" you. If they want to polygraph you it almost certainly means you are a suspect. If you are a suspect you should get a lawyer, plain and simple.
