Title: Control?  Maybe?
Post by: 40smith on Apr 08, 2005, 01:20 PM
Possible Control, not sure.

Starts out this way--

Polyguy-"Have you ever taken something from any previous employer"

Me, "Yes, I took 2 pairs of sunglasses"

Polyguy-"How much was it worth?"

Me- 130.00.

Polyguy- "Besides what you have told me, have you ever taken anything from an employer worth over 130.00?"

Me. No.

What is that?  Starts as control, but I think turns into relevant???

Is that possible?

This is a classic "control" question.

Despite the admission, the question does not turn into a relevant one as far as polygraph scoring technique.

Still, an admission like the one you describe above to any question--relevant or control--is likely to be disqualifying...
