Title: DUI
Post by: BlackJhack on Apr 07, 2005, 05:52 PM
Does anybody know if a police department states that you can not become a police officer if you have been convicted of a DUI with-in the last 3 years, that after those 3 years are up, and you apply, if it is still weighed heavily against you? Any thoughts are welcome.

Each department varies.  If they want you bad enough, they will take you.  I know of one FBI applicant that had a DUI conviction prior to applying and they still took him into consideration.  If he actually got hired or not I don't know.  I know he made it to the BI with them having the knowledge that he had a DUI conviction.  Just depends.
