Title: Took FBI poly: Did I or didn't I pass?
Post by: horsea on Jan 25, 2005, 01:04 PM
Took a fbi poly and was informed that I did not pass and that the report would be going to an adjudicator.  After speaking to the hiring official, I was informed that they are looking into new leads which stemmed from the poly.  My background investigation was completed and everything was ok.  Is this normal practise?  I've taken a poly in the past for another job and passed.  I'm confused, not sure if I passed or not.  Was the polygrapher BS'ing me?

Normally, the polygraph precedes the background investigation, and if the applicant doesn't pass the polygraph,  he/she is permanently disqualified from FBI employment and no background investigation is conducted. If your background investigation has indeed continued after the polygraph results were reported, that would be a good indication that you in fact passed it.
