Title: Im taking a polygraph next week!
Post by: Jakethekid on Dec 01, 2004, 03:26 AM
Hey everyone, I applied for a state agency and was turned down about 5 months ago. I am now applying with city PD's.  the City PD's  are asking if I have applied with anyone else lately. I told them about the certain state agency. are they going to check with them to verify polygraph results with one another?

More than likely this will be the case.  I think in the end it is actually up to the specific policy in place for the department and the willingness of someone in the background department to disclose the information to another investigator.

I do know that in my old department they would not disclose a single thing as far as disciplinary action taken or allow anyone to look into the employees file.  They did however, confirm employment history and if asked to the supervisors would agree to speak to a background investigator on an employee's behalf.

To be honest it depends greatly on the department, it has been my experience that certain departments are more than happy to assist other LE departments with any information they request.  Then again there are departments out there that just seem to hate other departments (for reasons unknown) and pretty much refuse to communicate at all with them.

Be honest, simply because one department didn't take you doesn't mean that another won't.

Good luck
