Well,
I just had my pre-employment polygraph screening for an FBI position. I should have done my homework by reading up on what not to do first!
To make a long interview short. In the post-exam interview, I admitted that I was with a prostitute several years ago. I did not lie on the application or during the exam, I was never arrested, charged, etc... no one knew until then.
I suppose honesty and truthfulness was not the best policy. If I had read up beforehand, I would not have admitted anything in the post exam interview. Well, at least I know I was completely candid. Small consolation that will be... They have not responded but I'm sure it will be badly.

The polygraph worked. You were involved in undisclosed criminal activity (likely would not have been discovered in a background investigation), failed and made admissions regarding your criminal activity.
How would reading this site help you prior to your polygraph?
