Title: FBI/NSA
Post by: jberns1224 on Aug 24, 2004, 01:17 AM
Hello,

After failing 3 polys with NSA a few years ago, I decided not to go back for a 4th retest.  I am scheduled for an FBI poly soon, and don't know if I should disclose my past experience at NSA.  A few years have passed and I currently hold a TS with DoD.  Does anyone know if the NSA experience will adversely impact my FBI poly?  I don't want to go through it if it will blacklist me from all future federal employment.  Any thoughts will be appreciated.

My understanding, is that the NSA would put your name
in the Intel-wide database, that you failed the polys.
I've gone through the NSA nonsense many times, and
I bet the FBI is no better.  I am sure they will ask you
if you have taken any polys, but they might already
know from the database.  I would probably look for
a TS/SCI position, that does not require a poly.
