Title: Need to get it together quick
Post by: SoloLemon on Jun 15, 2004, 08:31 PM
I am taking a second polygraph at a company that I took one with in March.  I failed one question the first time.  I did try to employ countermeasures but know I didn't do it quite right.  I absolutly have to pass this one!  Are they going to compare my last poly to this one?  I don't want them to see extreamly higher reactions to the same control questions.  Does anyone have any advice?  I caould use all the help I can get.

Essentially all of our suggestions on polygraph countermeasures are included in The Lie Behind the Lie Detector (http://antipolygraph.org/lie-behind-the-lie-detector.pdf).

I don't know whether your new polygraph chart will be compared with your old one, and if so, what points might be compared and what inferences might be made. I haven't come across anything in the polygraph literature about comparing charts of polygraph examinations administered to the same subject on different days.

You mentioned that on your first examination, you know that you did not employ countermeasures quite right. Do you know for sure what you did wrong? Feel free to contact me privately regarding this if you'd rather not post more details publicly.

I tried to employ mental countermeasures but didn't read enough about them.  I was also so nervous I didn't really know what I was doing.  Now that I have gone through it and know what to expect I feel I could do a better job.  That and I have done my homework alot better.
