Title: number of control questions
Post by: t75851 on Apr 09, 2004, 07:01 AM
Hello,
Read through the "Lie Behind Lie Detector"
Can anyone tell me approximately how many control questions are in a typical polygraph exam?

The Department of Defense Polygraph Institute's Law Enforcement Pre-Employment Test (http://antipolygraph.org/documents/dodpi-lepet.pdf) includes five "control" or comparison questions in Sequence/Phase 1 and four in Sequence/Phase 2. (See Appendices E and F.)

See also Appendices A and B of the 3rd edition of The Lie Behind the Lie Detector (http://antipolygraph.org/lie-behind-the-lie-detector.pdf) for information regarding the Modified General Question Test (MGQT) and Zone Comparison Test (ZCT), respectively.
