Title: Polygraph question
Post by: dre2142 on Mar 14, 2004, 01:24 PM
In regards to taking a polygraph for a local police agency for recruitment purposes, is it illegal for them to NOT hire me based SOLELY on the fact that I did not pass the polygraph?

I can not answer to the legalities regarding your question but I truely believe that if the police want to DQ you they can come up with any DQing factor they want.  If it was illegal to DQ you based on poly results and that is the only real reason they had for not hiring you, they would "find" something else to pin your DQ on.  I truely belive there is no way  the applicant can win regarding poly results.
