Title: CDC Hiring Wait
Post by: RA on Feb 10, 2004, 06:32 PM
I have a question about the hiring process for the California Corrections Department. So far I have completed everything. Around mid-november '03, I finally completed the PEM (physical exam). I passed that, so I guess Im on the list base on my score.

So far I havent gotten any other letters from CDC. Maybe I'm being impatient, I know it varies, but how long does it usually take to recieve a letter giving an appointment date?

Thanks for any help, and any other information

I was told that they were waiting for some budget update before they started hiring or testing.

thanks for the info method. I heard something like that also, something about June being around the date when this budget will be set up.

Thanks again, and if anyone has any more information, that would be great.

RA,

I wouldn't be in agreat hurry to join the CDC.  Gov. Ahnuld will not give the CCPOA the same perks that former Gov. Davis did. The CDC is also in hot water with use of force issues that led to the resignation of the CDC director.

If you need to get more information, do not hesitate to contact your BI and they should be able to provide you some insight.

Good Luck

That 's correct.

Today the CDC just named a new director and she seems to be up to the task of addressing the many problems facing her.
