Title: Iraqi police informant passes poly- but lied!
Post by: suethem on Dec 31, 2003, 03:25 AM
I saw a short piece on network news regarding an Iraqi police officer/ informant that was supplying the  U.S. military with information on insurgents.

Evidently this iraqi police officer said that he had detailed information about some individuals that had rockets stashed away for nasty purposes.

The 'military' gave him a polygraph test and he passed.

Later after the raid went down, it was revealed that the iraqi police officer had lied, and beaten the polygraph.

Turns out the iraqi police officer made up the rockets in attempt to strike back at the individuals who had previously tortured him.

Did anyone see this same story?

I guess that nobody saw it -but it raises an interesting question.

Someone  who does not  like U.S. soldiers could give the military false info about a cache of hidden weapons,  or terrorists, pass a polygraph, and have GI's walk right into an ambush.

Its bad enough that the GI's had their lives endangered by the raid. Someone could have been killed for nothing...
