I work for an agency that will send me to DODPI within the next year if I want to. I will be leaving this agency and applying for the FBI in about 2 years. What do you think the FBI would do about the pre-employment Poly if I was already a certified examiner. Just curious.
I think it is highly likely that the FBI polygraph unit would extend "professional courtesy" and make sure that you passed.

George,
On the basis of what evidence do you make this claim?
PolyCop... 8)
PolyCop,
I'm not claiming that the FBI polygraph unit would necessarily behave in the manner I've described, but I think it is highly likely. I base this belief not on any direct evidence, but rather on inference. It would be highly awkward, to say the least, for the FBI polygraph unit to fail an AFOSI veteran who had recently completed DoDPI's basic polygraph course.

Besides the fact that they (Govt in general) like to waste our hard earned tax money... why would the AF send you to DODPI if you plan on leaving them in two years?
Please don't tell me that they know you are planning on leaving and they are sending you despite having this knowledge! Of course that would speak volumes for our Govt! ???
I am not even sure if I am leaving, I will however let them send me to as much training as I can get. If I decide to get out and go civilian then I will be that much more marketable.
Airforceosi,
Just a bit of advice as far as chasing after the FBI... If you are a minority, a woman, or speak an Arabic language, THAT, not being an examiner, will defiantly help. I speak from the stand point of a turned down, poly trained (USA), non-minority, male.
Good luck on your quest.
