Title: Leading ME FBI Polygrapher Files Suit
Post by: Marty on Jul 19, 2003, 07:06 PM
The NYT's reports the leading FBI polygrapher of Arabic ancestry has filed a discrimination suit.

Excerpt:
Mr. Youssef said in his complaint that he had been held back from senior positions even though he was the bureau's only polygraph examiner qualified to conduct examinations in Arabic and had an intimate understanding of Arab culture, politics and diplomacy, knowledge that was rare among F.B.I. agents.

Marty,

The New York TImes article about SA Youssef is a very good job of reporting a clear case of exclusion. When you can get the attention of the Senate Judiciary Committee and the Justice Department refuses to let two senior members speak with SA Youssef, something is definitely wrong at the FBI.

What also is intriguing is that Robert Mueller, the FBI director, had knowledge of SA Youssefs complaints and assigned them to be reviewed by subordinates. The results may come out when Director Mueller has to address the Senate Judiciary Committee Wednesday.

Its a shame that someone with valuable skills in the war against terrorism is rebuffed. Could it be that the FBI doesn't trust any of their senior polygraphers?

Great article Marty
