Title: secret service
Post by: astern on Jul 11, 2003, 01:42 AM
Im an applicant currently about to get an associates degree and very much interested in the Uniformed Officer position. Here is my question, From my understanding i believe most officers with this agency tend to get in either because they have sworn lawenforcement, a bachlors degree, or military. Being that im just a college student i was wondering if they will take my application serious. Does anyone know if anyone has been hired by them without sworn Law enforcement, experience, or a bachlors degree. Anyone is welcomed to give a response. hopefully someone from the secret service is reading this post. Has anyone been hired right out of college

I have a close friend that just started training with the USSS uniformed division a while ago.  He had no college degree. It is my understanding that the USSS UD is very shorthanded right now and is looking to hire at least a couple hundred new UD officers.  So long as your record is clean, I'd say your chances are pretty good.  It took my friend approximately 8 months from the time he placed his application to the day he left for training.  Good luck!
