Catrina,

You obviously care about your husband. Seems like you guys make a good team!  You certainly are not stupid.  Your husband is already a cop and what he does in the jail will make him a better officer when he gets on the street.  I know how hard it gets, but keep the faith and keep fighting. You guys will make it-good luck!!

Catrina,

DO NOT LISTEN to the remarks/advice by no_sugar_coating. He has obviously never been in your husband's shoes, I have. It is not very intelligent, or realistic, to simply say "find a better paying job". Most anyone I know would get a higher paying job if they could.

Just tell your husband to keep trying. Maybe suggest to him that he do a little "detective work" of his own and try to determine where he is falling short. Many departments now will hire someone with a bankruptcy or other financial problems if they can be explained and are not due to flagrant irresponsibility. If he has something that is disqualifying him, he needs to find out what it is to determine if it is something he can address.

I hope this was helpful.

He is probably failing the credit check because you filed for bankruptcy.

Now that might take like 7 years to get of your record.

Tell him to find a better paying job so he can pay off all the bills and then apply.
