Quote from: Seeker on Apr 01, 2003, 04:46 AMI was wondering if anyone out there saw the March 29 airing of Mad TV on Fox.  I was told that it had a short spoof on there about the use of the polygraph on AlQaeda suspects.

If anyone saw it, I would like to know what the content was.  I was unable to view it.

Thanks!

Didn't see Mad TV, but I did see the April 15 airing of "NYPD Blue."

While interrogating a man who was mentally "slow," one of the detectives rolled up the suspect's sleeve, telling him he spent 2 years at the FBI polygraph school.  He then placed two fingers on the man's wrist for a pulse, and two fingers from his other hand on the man's neck.  The detective gave a nod to his partner, who, knowing the prank, started to ask the questions.
"Is your name ___?"
"Yes"
Do you live in NYC?"
"Yes"
"Did you have anything to do with the attck on that woman last night?"
"No"
Then the detective taking the pulse sat down next to the "slow" suspect, giving him a stern look and grumbled, "We have a problem here."
The suspect started to cry.  He confessed to the attack, and then on top of that, he confessed to a murder form a few years before!!!

I'm sure both sides of the polygraph issue can find something in that scene to gripe about, and also something to praise.

I am always amazed in the way Hollywood portrays the polygraph.  If they knew the true horrors behind the machine, maybe they would portray it in a different light.

Hollywood giving a damn about others?  I must losing it . . .
