Peta,

For starters, see The Lie Behind the Lie Detector and the sources cited therein, especially the 2nd edition of David T. Lykken's A Tremor in the Blood: Uses and Abuses of the Lie Detector (New York: Plenum Trade, 1998).

HI THERE,

My name is Peta and I am a student at the Uni of Sydney in Australia.  I am currently writting an essay on polygraph testing and am requiring information on how they work and whether they are reliable or not.  If anybody has an information on these topics, or knows of any sites, other than this one, where this information is avaliable could you let me know.  If somebody can help, thanks heaps....if not thanks anyway.
