I'm not sure what your general source reference "more and more people" refers to, but I can guarantee this:
--the only persons knowledgeable of CIA polygraph procedures are current employees or applicants.
--both groups have signed secrecy agreements and would not likely make even casual references to even the most trivial details surrounding _any_ aspect of their employment or selection.
In other words... abandon your speculation.
Of all the federal agencies I am familiar with, I can state with a degree of certainty that the CIA has relied on/relies on the polygraph more than any other federal organization and is not likely to discontinue its use.
According to a recent post in the Personal Statements segment of this website, an alleged CIA applicant mentioned a CIA polygraph was part of a pre-employment process.

- Apr 19, 2001, 02:17 AMI have heard more and more people talking about the CIA conducting multiple polygraph tests somtimes on successive days. Does anyone know if there is any relevance to this claim? Does the CIA conduct its polygraph(s) at the beginning of the employment process now and/or does it wait until the applicant stays over at the Farm? Thank you.
(Maybe multiple polys indicates that the CIA is losing confidence in this ridiculous device and it wants to strong-arm applicants into a confession!)
