@ George W. Maschke

Are there any departments that don't use the polygraph in the state of Florida or Georgia?

Let me start the list of law enforcement organizations that don't polygraph by noting that in the following states, all public and private employers are prohibited by law from requiring pre-employment polygraph screening:

Massachusetts
Michigan
Minnesota
New Jersey
Oregon

No state or local law enforcement agency in the above five states subjects applicants to polygraph screening.

The New York Police Department—the largest municipal police department in the United States—has no polygraph screening requirement.

In addition, the Pennsylvania State Police scrapped its polygraph screening requirement in 2017.

Hi,
I failed a federal polygraph a few years ago, well aware that its all BS. However, I think a lot of us would benefit if we compiled a list of legitimate LE organizations that do not polygraph, and have thorough BI standards.

Thanks!
